Scheduled to begin operations in 2028, Air Liquide’s production unit will deliver large volumes of ultra-pure nitrogen, oxygen and argon, essential for manufacturing advanced memory chips.

France’s Air Liquide has announced an investment of over USD 150 million to build, own and operate a new industrial gas production facility in Idaho to support the site expansion of a global leader in semiconductor memory chips. Building on a renewed partnership, this new investment will support the significant increase of the customer’s production capacity, Air Liquide said.

Scheduled to begin operations in 2028, Air Liquide’s production unit will deliver large volumes of ultra-pure nitrogen, oxygen and argon, essential for manufacturing advanced memory chips.

This new investment in Idaho builds on Air Liquide’s ongoing expansion of its footprint across US semiconductor hubs, such as Arizona, Indiana, Virginia, Texas and upstate New York.

“This new investment underscores Air Liquide’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for critical industrial gases required to manufacture advanced semiconductor chips,” said Matthieu Giard, Group Executive Committee member, who supervises Air Liquide’s operations in the Americas. “Building on the strong relationship we have established as their current supplier, our customer’s decision to choose us for this new phase of growth demonstrates a deep and renewed trust in our proven capabilities in Idaho.”
