Qualcomm said on Sept. 1 that it showcased demonstration products based on its Dragonwing platform at the Qualcomm Dragonwing Internet of Things (IoT) Day.
Qualcomm Dragonwing is a business-to-business (B2B) platform for industrial and embedded IoT, networking and cellular infrastructure solutions. The architecture combines Qualcomm's hardware processors, software and services to provide the speed, scalability and reliability required for industrial applications.
Dragonwing IoT Day is an event for sharing the latest technologies and real-world applications in industrial artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT. The event is aimed at strengthening Qualcomm's collaboration with customers and partners in Korea.
The event was held at The Grand Lotte Seoul on Sept. 1. About 500 representatives from major customers and partners, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus, attended. The event was larger than last year's Qualcomm IoT Partner & Tech Day.
Qualcomm's technology sessions introduced the latest Qualcomm Linux 2.0 for IoT and robotics, the Qualcomm Intelligent Robotics Product software development kit (QIRP SDK), and Qualcomm's AI development workflow, among other technologies. Qualcomm Linux 2.0 is the company's unified Linux distribution for Dragonwing IoT systems.
Partner presentation sessions covered strategies and successful applications aimed at accelerating growth in the AI, robotics and IoT industries. Participants included Hyundai Motor's Robotics LAB, SST, Integrit, DTEK, Point Mobile, XSLAB, Advantech, Innodisk, Aetina and WisePlus.
Key topics included industrial automation and robotics, smart homes and appliances, agentic AI, Arduino, Edge Impulse and industrial cameras. Arduino is a single-board development environment that can connect various sensors and electronic devices. Edge Impulse is an AI software platform developed by Edge Impulse that allows machine-learning models to be built, optimized and deployed on embedded hardware.
The event featured Dragonwing-based technologies and solutions for industrial applications, including robotics and vision AI. Qualcomm and 10 partners presented a total of 16 demonstration products.
