Artificial intelligence (AI) and energy solutions company DeltaX has signed a long-term energy storage system (ESS) supply agreement with French power solutions company Socomec. DeltaX plans to begin mass production at its US manufacturing facility in May next year and supply the products to the North American commercial and industrial (C&I) ESS market.
DeltaX announced on Sept. 18 that it signed a long-term ESS master supply agreement (MSA) with Socomec at its headquarters in Guro, Seoul, on Sept. 17. The agreement runs for three years and guarantees a minimum supply value of $90 million, with the potential to increase based on rising supply volumes.
Socomec is a power solutions company founded in France in 1922, specializing in the availability, control and safety of low-voltage power networks. Bruno Plisson, Socomec’s vice president, and Vishwas, who oversees technology development at Socomec, participated in the agreement.
The two companies jointly developed ESS products for several months prior to the signing. Socomec provided product specifications and requirements, while DeltaX modified designs and incorporated them into prototypes, validating mass-production readiness through the process. In May, DeltaX executives visited Socomec’s US manufacturing facility to discuss mass production and market expansion plans.
DeltaX will begin mass-producing ESS products for Socomec at its US manufacturing facility in May next year, initially targeting the North American C&I ESS market. Both companies plan to expand their cooperation into utility-scale ESS for large power grids and other global markets.
DeltaX is constructing its first North American manufacturing facility in Walton County, Georgia, with an investment of $141 million. Slated for completion in the first half of 2027, the facility will produce ESS products for C&I, utility-scale and AI data-center applications.
“Rather than simply looking at scale, we place greater importance on R&D capabilities, creativity and execution when selecting partners,” Bruno Plisson, vice president of Socomec, said. “The quality of the initial concepts and prototypes demonstrated by DeltaX was highly impressive.”
“We have rarely seen a company that can execute at this speed while maintaining core R&D capabilities in-house, from design and development to validation,” Vishwas, head of technology development at Socomec, said. “The company implemented numerous requirements and design changes at a high level of quality within a short period.”
“We have established a tangible business base in the North American market by combining DeltaX’s BESS technology with Socomec’s expertise in power and energy management,” DeltaX Chief Executive Officer Kim Soo-hoon said. “We will supply products tailored to local customer demand and expand our business into the global energy infrastructure market.”
DeltaX and Socomec will formally introduce their strategic partnership at the RE+ 2026 exhibition in Las Vegas in November.
