Electronics Production | August 25, 2026
Kitron has officially opened its new production facility at Longum outside Arendal in Norway, adding approximately 7,500 square metres of manufacturing space. Together with the existing Kilsund site nearby, the two facilities employ approximately 550 people.
The opening comes as Kitron reported revenues of EUR 568 million in the first half of 2026 – a 69% increase year-on-year – with defence and aerospace now the company's largest market sector. As Evertiq previously reported, Kitron has also raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to EUR 1,050–1,150 million on the back of continued strong demand.
"Secure and regulated electronics manufacturing is a strategic bottleneck in the European defence investment supercycle. We need to expand secure, high-reliability supply chains capable of delivering modern defence platforms at the required pace," said Peter Nilsson, President and CEO of Kitron.
The Longum facility is described as an important step in building the industrial platform needed to support continued growth, particularly within defence, aerospace and other high-reliability sectors.
From manufacturing and design to supply chains and emerging technologies, the electronics industry never stands still. Meet the people driving it forward at the upcoming Evertiq Expo events.
